Ole Henriksen was born in Nibe, a picturesque village in the Danish countryside, and his idyllic childhood was filled with laughter, music, dancing and summers on the water. His love affair with skincare began at an early age… On cold winter mornings, his mother would lovingly apply cream to his face to protect his tender skin from the elements.
At the age of 19, Ole ventured out into the world as a dancer and fell in love with Jakarta, Indonesia. However, while enjoying his tropical paradise, Ole developed cystic acne. His friend and talented esthetician, Lagita, was able to restore Ole’s skin to happy, healthy vitality through botanical treatments. Seeing his skin improve dramatically through proper care inspired him to help others: his life was forever transformed.
HOLLYWOOD’S SKINCARE EXPERT
Ole devoted himself to skincare and cosmetic chemistry, studying at the Christine Shaw College of Beauty in London (he was a star student, he would want us to mention) before setting his sights stateside. After a brief stint in San Francisco, Ole opened his own spa in 1975 in West Hollywood, mixing concoctions in his kitchen and bringing them on the back of his bicycle to treat his celebrity clients.
Ole quickly developed a cult following and in 1983, he launched his namesake product line so clients could enjoy spa results at home. Today, Ole continues to create new products that treat, nurture and protect the skin. Along the way, he shares his uplifting and inspiring message of the transformative power of skincare.
Ole decided to fulfill his dreams and explore the world. He left Denmark, globetrotting, and settled in Indonesia, where he worked as a professional dancer and model. While enjoying his tropical paradise, he developed cystic acne and landed in the hands of a local esthetician, Lagita—who transformed his skin and piqued his interest in skincare.
After graduating from the Christine Shaw College of Beauty in London with honors, Ole moved to Los Angeles and opened the Ole Henriksen of Denmark Skincare Center on Camden Drive in Beverly Hills.

Ole debuted his first skincare collection, which later became available through mail order, and used his quarterly newsletters to promote, inform, and educate. His business was growing rapidly, so he moved the spa to Sunset Plaza in West Hollywood.
Ole became known as the ultimate celebrity skincare guru. It was a huge honor, though Ole gives each of his clients the star treatment. Because of his meteoric rise in popularity, he was booked a year in advance.
One of Ole’s celebrity clients sought him out to prepare for a major awards ceremony and, upon seeing her radiant, youthful-looking skin in the mirror, exclaimed “Look at my Ole Glow!” The Ole Glow, pure radiance from the inside out, has become our signature.
Ole renamed the spa, and the now Ole Henriksen Face/Body Spa and moved across the street to other side of Sunset Plaza. Through this move, Ole reinvented himself and his brand as he expanded and incorporated state-of-the-art wet room treatments into his menu of services. Simultaneously, he launched a new packaging design, focusing on vivid, cheerful colors—a first in the beauty industry.
Ole and Sephora begin what he refers to as a “lifelong love affair.”
Truth Serum became the No. 1 anti-aging product at Sephora. Whenever he is asked which of his products he absolutely cannot live without, Ole always says Truth Serum.
OLEHENRIKSEN joined forces with LVMH, the world’s leading luxury group, allowing the brand to flourish on a global scale like never before. Business magazine Inc. published a story about this new partnership, as well as Ole’s passion for gymnastics.
Ole attended the annual store conference for VITA in Oslo Norway, celebrating being the No. 1 skincare brand in their 225 stores.
Ole and Sephora continue their “lifelong love affair.” Sephora remains Ole’s No. 1 retail partner.
