WHAT IS LARKIN STREET YOUTH SERVICES?
Larkin Street Youth Services is a nonprofit empowering young people to move beyond homelessness. Founded in 1984, they’ve helped over 75,000 young adults in San Francisco by providing a continuum of healthcare, housing, employment, and education services. They're also part of the movement to end youth homelessness on a national scale through policy partnerships with national organizations and fellow nonprofits.
Fact: Half of all homeless people in San Francisco had their first experience of homelessness before 25, according to Larkin Street Youth Services.
WHY DID WE PARTNER WITH LARKIN STREET YOUTH SERVICES?
In our ongoing effort to support the LGBTQ+ community—with love, acceptance and lots of glow—we wanted to work with a nonprofit that aligned with our beliefs. We appreciate all of the work Larkin Street has done to provide housing, education and employment training, as well as health and wellness support, to LGBTQ+ youth in San Francisco to get them off the street for good.
Fact: Almost half of young people experiencing homelessness in San Francisco identify as LGBTQ+, according to Larkin Street Youth Services.
HOW ARE WE GIVING BACK?
To support the local LQBTQ+ community, we partnered with Larkin Street Youth Services (and Bombas Socks) to donate 100 care packages to homeless young adults in the San Francisco.
