Exfoliate My Lips?! How to 'Perfect your Pout'

Everyone loves soft lips, but cold, winter weather can really do a number to that pretty pout of yours! I am a lip balm addict myself. However, lip balm isn’t the only step to having the most kissable lips! Have you ever tried exfoliating your lips?

Now, I know what you might be thinking - Exfoliate my what?! Yes, that’s right! Your lips! We’ve all exfoliated the skin on our face or body before, but our lips deserve some exfoliating loving too.

I’d like to invite you all to try out our african red tea exfoliating lip salvation. Not only is this lip treatment my wintertime saving grace, but it also does wonders to prime my pout for a moisturizing lip balm. It’s unique in that it has a physical exfoliating property. This means that the grainy texture in this lightly-tinted salve is there to remove any dead skin on the surface of your lips.

The best part about this treatment is that it’s free of synthetic dye, fragrances, parabens and petroleum. Many lip balms or lip treatments contain petroleum products as the main moisturizing ingredient, but did you know that your skin and lips do not absorb petroleum chemical products? It’s just a quick fix that can actually make your lips even more chapped in the long run!

You’ll quickly see why this product is on my personal must-have list when it comes to perfecting my kissable pout! For added benefits, try fresh lips lip balm with a spf 15. What part about this product works best for you? We’d love to hear in the comments below!

Product Spotlight: Body Sleek

In the cold winter months, a thick, creamy body lotion is an absolute must.

Ole Henriksen’s body sleek lotion is bursting with essential fatty acids and vitamins. Your skin will feel delicious from the apricot, almond, avocado and sunflower oils that help retexturize and oxygenate your skin. Ultra-light and watery lotions are no match for this delightfully full bodied cream that penetrates your skin, rather than just coating the surface.

The non-irritating formula and light fresh scent is perfect for even the most sensitive skin and promises to keep your body’s largest organ well insulated.

A Cool Winter Treat For Your Skin

To maintain his glowing complexion, Ole believes in incorporating old Scandinavian rituals to create a stress free, less-is-more lifestyle. “Whether it’s the way I pack my meals (simple and healthy) to the way I pack my suitcase (by choosing a theme of two colors so I’m never left confused), it’s all about sticking to the basics and doing them faithfully,” says Ole. “Following a less-is-more approach to life keeps me happy, healthy and focused on the moment.”

One popular natural treatment Scandinavians do during the winter is to break the ice of a lake or pond to go swimming, as it awakens and revives the skin. “It must be the Viking part of our blood,” jokes Ole. Get the same effect (sans pneumonia) at home. Pour a tray of ice cubes into a sink full of cold water, dip a terry facecloth into it, and then lay it across the face for a few moments. “This is a great way to oxygenate and lift the skin,” he says. “It’s like a mini face-lift.”

Protect Winter Skin With Salt, Butter and Mango

There is no better way to treat yourself or your loved ones this chilly holiday season with a soothing body treatment at OLEHENRIKSEN FACE/BODY.

I recently had the pleasure of spending a day at the spa and enjoyed the benefits of an indulgent body treatment from 12 year veteran massage and body therapist Michael Simon. He also happens to be the creator of this month’s most popular services and one of the most decadent body indulgences at the spa, the salt butter and mango treatment.

“I wanted to create a very decadent experience,” says Simon. “The cocoa butter moisturizes and protects dry skin during the winter, the salt exfoliates and the sugar from the mango provides antioxidants and firming benefits to the dermis.”

So treat yourself to one of dozens of natural treatments at OLEHENRIKSEN FACE/BODY this winter. You’ll feel like a celebrity for a day and enjoy the long lasting effects of a healing spa day all season long. But don’t take it from me, experience your own head to toe transformation and enjoy the uplifting atmosphere of Ole’s world famous spa.

“Ole’s positive energy emanates throughout the spa,” says Simon. “His energy fills the whole place.”

How to Apply Your Facial Crème This Winter

During the drier and colder winter months, it is more important than ever to keep your skin properly hydrated. Apply a generous amount of your favorite OLEHENRIKSEN crème to maintain the elasticity and youthfulness of your skin. Don’t try to press or rub the product too firmly on your face as this unnecessarily stretches the skin and can encourage wrinkle formation. Instead, gently rub in circular motions from the base of your neck upwards to help improve blood flow.

To finish it off, apply an eye cream like our fresh start or visual truth eye crème by taking a small dab on your ring finger and dab lightly starting from your temples to the inner corner of your eye. Now your skin is ready to take on the cool winter weather!

Simple solutions for dry cracked lips

The only thing that should be cracked open during the winter should be eggnog and hot apple cider, not your lips. Nothing can be more irritating on your face than peeling lips. To prevent this, massage your lips firmly with a damp complexion sponge each morning and night to lift away dead skin cells. The bonus perk is that the stimulation will leave your lips fuller, so they are kissably soft. To maintain plump and healthy lips, our bestselling fresh lips lip treatment contains salicylic acid to naturally dissolve any excess dead skin cells. Plus, camphor and menthol help prevent blisters and give your lips a cool soothing sensation, while vitamin E and cocoa butter help heal and nourish. No need to be shy this winter, pucker up!
