Sunscreen and the fight against aging!

I have always regarded sunscreen as one of the most important anti-aging secrets. The sun is certainly beautiful; however, exposing our delicate skin to harmful rays can age us far beyond our years.

From Denmark, to Malibu, to summer vacations in Italy, I’ve enjoyed sunshine and the beach my entire life – but you’ll never catch me out in the sun without a hat, bandana and sunscreen!

UV exposure is most hazardous between the hours of 10 a.m. and 4 p.m, but you can’t stay indoors all day long! So whether you’re running a quick errand or heading to the beach, follow my simple rules for maintaining youthful looking skin.

Use broad spectrum sunscreen with SPF 15 or higher. My Protect the Truth™ SPF 50+ is a perfect option when you’re out in the sun. It’s oil-free and light-weight, so it’s perfect to wear under your daily moisturizer and acts as a great makeup base. It protects from UV damage with broad spectrum protection and against other environmental factors that can cause premature aging with collagen boosting Vitamin C and firming pepha-tight, while the heat and light activated Solar Active Complex™ stimulates your skin’s natural repair function to help heal existing damage and prevent further damage.

Reapply sunscreen regularly, especially when you spend an extended period of time in the sun.

Maintain proper hydration It’s important to use sun protection every day, not only when you’re at the beach or pool. A good moisturizer with SPF is essential even during a few minutes of sun exposure, like while driving in your car to work. Truth Revealed™ Super Creme SPF 15 offers sun protection and contains important anti-aging ingredients to help improve the texture and firmness of your skin.

Check the sunscreen’s expiration date. Sunscreen has a shelf life of two years. Replace anything older, especially if it’s been exposed to high temperatures.

Wear a hat with a wide brim as an added precaution to shade your face, head, ears, and neck from the sun. Note: A hat doesn’t take the place of sunscreen. Wear both and you be covering all of your bases.

Don’t forget your sunglasses. Like your sunscreen, choose a brand that shields eyes from UVA and UVB rays. Sunglasses can protect the tender skin around your eyes from sun exposure. Double the protection with my Total Truth™ eye crème SPF 15, designed to protect,  hydrate, reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and firm.

Applying sunscreen should be part of your regular, daily routine. If you protect your skin, you’ll reap the rewards and be able to flaunt healthy, glowing, younger-looking skin for years to come.
