Halloween Sweet Treat Alternatives!

Halloween – also known as the start of the holiday sugar-eating season! As many of us know, eating sugary foods directly affects hormones, blood sugar levels and often times your skin! Looking to find a way to satisfy my sweet tooth without compromising my skin, I sat down with Ole to find out about his healthy sweet treat alternatives.

Ole suggests eating a dark, natural chocolate that contains 70% or higher cacao levels. If you plan on eating chocolate, dark chocolate is the way to go because it is packed with fabulous antioxidants. To make things even more fun, you can always put some dark chocolate in a fondue maker and dip some yummy strawberries!

I personally enjoy snacking on SweetRiot’s 70% cacao nibs. They give just enough chocolate flavor in a tiny portion to satisfy my holiday sweet cravings.

Another one of Ole’s favorite treats are dates and figs dipped in plain yogurt. “The sweet and sour flavor combination is incredible,” says Ole.
